Spinal Decompression Services Expanded for 2018!
United States Trip:
Cameron recently returned from Indiana in the USA as a certified Cox technique practitioner! He becomes one of only a handful of accredited Cox practitioners in Australia.
What Is Cox Technique?
Since that time there has been a vast amount of published research on Cox technique with results consistently confirming that the therapy is extremely safe and effective for a wide range of spine related conditions.Cox is an evidence based chiropractic technique which combines spinal decompression and joint mobilization procedures. The technique was developed by American chiropractor Dr James Cox in the early 1970’s. Dr Cox developed the technique after recognizing the potential for disc decompression/distraction to safely treat disc disorders and nerve compression in the lumbar spine (lower back). Following very successful Government funded clinical trials in the 1990’s, Dr Cox designed a decompression table which also included the ability to treat nerve compression in the thoracic and cervical spine.

Is Cox technique similar to spinal Decompression?
Cox technique complements our existing spinal decompression service. There are some conditions that are best managed on our spinal decompression table whilst others will be more suited to Cox procedures.
We have had a lot of inquiry from all around Victoria following last week’s Channel Nine News Story on non-surgical spinal decompression. The table featured in the story is indeed the same table we are using. There are currently just a handful of these decompression tables in Australia and hopefully they will become common-place in the future.
Will existing Chiropractic services continue?
Most definitely, chiropractic manipulation will continue to be offered as it has in the past. Spinal decompression and Cox technique are additional services and will be recommended when chiropractic manipulation or other complimentary therapies are no longer effective or appropriate for your condition.
When will Cox technique be offered at Warragul Chiropractic?
We have the latest Cox 8 table on order (manufactured in the USA). We hope to be taking delivery of the new table by the beginning of the New Year! We will keep you posted. Please check our blog page for updates.
